Kristin D. Scarr received her B.S. from Mercyhurst College and her M.A from the University of Arkansas before finding her way to the West Virginia State Historic Preservation Office in Charleston, WV. After five years conducting Section 106 review and compliance, Kristin took the opportunity to return to her hometown of Pittsburgh for a brief interlude in the private sector before finding her way to the Delaware DOT, eventually landing here at PennDOT. Kristin has worked in various aspects of archaeology including academic museums, private sector labs and government offices. She has been involved in archaeological investigations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Arkansas. Much of Kristin’s research experience in archaeology has involved the study of lithic technology and lithic raw material sourcing.
